It's only happened a few times in the years that we've been married that we find ourselves without one set of parents or the other when Christmas comes. We did see my in-laws last month for Thanksgiving, so that meant Christmas was likely to mean my parents. But between a few factors at work and the request of my parents who are seeking some quiet and rest, we stayed home this year.
The morning has been slow with reading, tea, holiday music, and a bit of breakfast. The rest of the day doesn't hold much different in store, aside from maybe watching a TV show or playing some board games. A relaxing dinner for leg of lamb roast with potatoes and wine will cap the day.
Now, I'm going to relax my fingers and find my wife for some hugs.
